Noctua Nh-L9x65 Se-Am4
65 mm
In use in a 2U server chassis. A 3950X is not completely cooled (never below 60° C), which is not to be expected (105W TDP).
The scope of delivery is as always top. The cooler is small and leaves enough free space for RAM bars. The cooling fins are parallel and let the case air flow well.
As always, Noctua is not exactly cheap, but the packaging alone is an experience. In this case, the price is even on the decent side of "premium".

Since there is no room in my small server cube, I decided on this model. Since the power supply draws the air out, I wanted to mount the CPU cooler upside down, then the extremely annoying "motor sound" from the supplied 14mm thin fans becomes audible. Luckily I had a Noctua NF-A9 from another CPU cooler that I no longer use lying around (incl. bracket) and it fits like a glove (see picture) and is far less annoying. I can highly recommend it if you still have about a centimetre of space.

Well documented, easy installable and really compact silent fan that perfectly fitted into my compact multimedia PC. However, the tradeoff is that you still hear the fan under load.

Really good product, do it's job in a silent way. Only issue is that is quite heavy so handling and installation needs to be done with care or you can damage the CPU/motherboard.

Compact size ideal for a small 13cm wide PC tower.
Do not put in the hands of a gamer who wants something flashy because the brown/beige Noctua is ugly.

It works very well with any processor, maintaining an average maximum temperature of 65°C. Plus it is great for small cases as it dissipates heat very well thanks to its high surface area for such a compact heatsink.
