The camera is a monster! The picture is fantastic, the sound great. Except for the use of the apps and consort, there, there is work...

    Best decision!

I thought and compared for a long time and finally ended up with the Optoma PX2 and don't regret the decision for a second. Together with an appropriate CLR UST screen, it gives a usable image even during the day. Of course, there is no comparison when it is dark, no question. But as soon as the light is dimmed outside in the afternoon/early evening, I see little difference to a normal TV.

For the money, plus the screen, you can't get a TV that size.

    Pro

    • Great picture
    • Great sound
    • Extremely quiet, not audible for me in movie mode

    Contra

    • Smart Apps difficult to use, prefer a media player (Apple TV, Fire TV, etc.).)

An "optomal" beamer for the average consumer.

The beamer is, on the whole, a very great product. It delivers a clear, high-contrast image at 4k 60Hz, and colors are very rich.
The gaming mode is usable, the latency is noticeably reduced - but for avid gamers who connect
their PC to play shooter games, the latency is a bit too high. Note: in Gaming Mode, image correction and HDR support are disabled. So you have to adjust the beamer in the exact position to the wall (distance, but also height relative to the screen).
It is important for UST projectors that the surface on which you want to project has no large unevenness. Due to the extreme projection angle, unevenness of 1cm is already enough to distort the image massively.
With a suitable screen (e.g. Elite Screens Aeon Edge Free) you get deeper black levels, even when used in daylight.
The operating software is not exactly customer-friendly and leaves a lot to be desired. It will take a few hours to set up the projector the way you want.

    Pro

    • Good colour reproduction
    • even if not native: 4K very good
    • quiet
    • bright enough even in daylight
    • gaming mode
    • Connections

    Contra

    • Operation leaves much to be desired
    • Input switching poorly solved
    • Picture setup a bit awkward
    • image correction is switched off in gaming mode

    Good picture, poor software

In terms of picture, the beamer shines. Bright beautiful picture with high resolution. The picture settings are also very good.

However, the software. It does not have many setting options. But they are enough. The included
media app can't do DLNA and I couldn't get the "Samba" function to work with my NAS.

You can install APKs. Either from the very sparse store or upload via APP. Has of course the disadvantage that these are not automatically updated. Really to forget the whole thing.

Also, the CEC volume function to the receiver does not work. So you can not control the AVR with the FB from the TV. ARC, however, works flawlessly.

    Conclusion:
With a Google TV Chromecast, you can massively upgrade this device. Vimu app installed and everything runs as it should (KODI does not do the DTS passtrough properly). With the FB from the Google TV can also control the AVR, so you only need one FB and you're done.

And because it works so even => 4 stars for the mega picture

Super beamer as a TV replacement

Super quiet, that was important to me. Now we can enjoy quiet movie scenes without fan or fip noise. Before we had Xiaomi and Vava, quiet scenes inedible because the beamer was too loud.
