The device and the software are very good!
I had no problems, the quality of the biders are very good!
Attention! If you want to scan large series, this is the wrong machine!

For a not too large collection (200 slides, 500 negatives) it works well. But needs time

Installation on Mac without CD LW a bit awkward, because you have to request a new produltekey first..,

    Pro

    • Good scan result in a short time. SW for direct processing could be better...

You have to start each scan individually, even if you can put several negatives in the negative holder. So of course you always have to sit next to the machine to scan the next image every two minutes.

    The Silverfast software
requires some training. I only did the basic scan with Silverfast and the effective image processing in Lightroom from Adobe, as I already had the programme anyway.
This way I could also edit the scans in Lightroom while the scan was running in Silverfast and thus make better use of the waiting time until the image change.

    Pro

    • Easy to operate
    • Good price/performance ratio

    Contra

    • Each image must be scanned individually
    • Second magazine for negatives or slides would make sense

Easy to use, very good results, fast processing of slides.
Post-processing of the digitised slides is relatively easy, there is even an automatic image enhancement available that delivers appealing results.

    Pro

    • Comes close to a professional device
    • Easy to handle
    • A setting can be saved during serial processing.
    • Skewed recordings can be straightened out.

    Contra

    • Operating instructions a little short. It makes sense to try it out yourself.

    Negative scanner

As a scanner excellent, from my point of view 3600 dpi is enough for scanning
    Multiscan brings no advantages
I use the device for archiving my pictures in TIF
For image optimization I would not necessarily use Silverfast,
but rather Photoshop and Co, but you can always do it afterwards, when images are scanned as TIF.
IR scratches / dust removal is not quite the yellow of the egg, I prefer to do that manually

    Pro

    • good color depth
    • professional scan

    Contra

    • relatively slow
    • needs relatively much training for image optimization

    Price/performance okay

Meets the expectations for the most part. Every now and then there is an "unknown error" during scanning or colored lines are scanned.

I find the slide frame holder very good. Nothing slips here.
You have to get to grips
with the Silverfast software a bit more, otherwise the scans won't be of much use.

I still edit the slides afterwards with an image editing program.
I can use the scan time of 3 minutes on average to finish the previously scanned image.

    Good hardware processing

    Good dust removal. Nice sharpness.
