Samsung PSSD software for Mac does not recognize hard drive immediately, T7 ansich (without PSSD) TOP!
The software from Samsung, PSSD (Portable SSD), does not work properly on the Mac. After installation, the hard drive is not recognized. Had to install and update the app several times. Didn't seem to be able to uninstall all of it though, which is why the 2nd install attempt didn't succeed right away. Also, since Catalina 10.15, the app has to be unlocked extra, manually.... (System Preferences > Security & Privacy).
The software is only necessary to set the security features (password and fingerprint), although this is the selling point of the T7 Touch. If you don't absolutely need the fingerprint scan, you should go for the version without it and save yourself the trouble with the PSSD software and the extra charge. On Windows PC I have not yet tested the software, supposedly works better.
The software does not seem to recognize the hard drive every time. You have to unplug the cable and plug it in again until it works. I disabled the security feature now, because I'm a little afraid I won't be able to turn it off or adjust it. The Disablen must be confirmed additionally, which is easily overlooked and then provides additional stress.
Depending on your view, advantage or disadvantage of the PSSD: when the security feature is "disabled", the password and fingerprint are deleted. When "Enable" then everything must be reset and the fingerprints rescanned. Would be nice if that were separately selectable and you could simply turn the security function on / off; depending on the situation, for example: Home = Off, Businesstrip/Urlaub = On...
Hopefully there will be an update where you can change the default...Pro

A product with security that is not security...
After 2 months internsivem use and with inquiry to the support, I am no longer convinced of this product.
Two updates were already due in this short time. The first one only worked on the third try. For the second (firmware update) I turned to the support. On the one hand, the update was not executable and the partition had also "gone bye-bye".
To fix the problems, the "fingerprint" function and the security (password) had to be turned off, according to the support. From the point of view of security certainly questionable.
Then there was the partition lost during operation (-> RAW). Why this suddenly disappeared could not answer me the support. Also not the one how I get back to my data...
All in all, the additional costs for the "security feature" (touch) are not necessary. The additional costs are not justified or simply not yet mature... You could also call this a marketing stunt.
The password has a maximum length of 15 characters. To be considered as a security feature, this is of course not enough.
I would not buy the SSD with touch again.

Very fast SSD at a good price
Very fast SSD, much faster than the T5 (my purely subjective opinion). Setting up password protection is quick and uncomplicated.
Scope of delivery (2x USB cable) is great. USB-C as standard of course 1A.Pro

Currently the best choice for buying an external hard drive!
Fulfils every expectation that can currently be placed on an external SSD!
