Under Linux, this network card regularly crashed under high load. (1 Gbit Ethernet with < 1000 connections / second)
The problem is also described here, exactly as it occurred with me: http://serverfault.com/questions...
I found a workaround for the problem: I had to switch off TCP Segmentation Offloading, General Segmentation Offloading and TCP Receive Offloading.
ethtool -K ethX gso off gro off tso off
After that it worked without any problems.
Contra
I am more than satisfied
However, the point about the range is not entirely clear to me with a LAN module.
A simple RTL 8168B based card that should work reasonably under most circumstances. Has LEDs for 10/100/1000 Mbps and FDX. MAC address is unfortunately not printed. Drivers are included on an 8cm CD, but it is better to download them directly from Realtec. For Linux there are native kernel drivers.
Has been running smoothly for a few months now.
