Top (mesh) WiFi router if wired speeds over 500Mbps are not needed.
In the first review I had deducted 1 star because despite explicit information that the correct power cable for Switzerland was already included, I had an EU Schuko plug on it. Afterwards, however, I received a suitable USB power adapter so that I could replace the original adapter with the clunky plug.
So I would have given the full 5 stars NEW, BEFORE the wired Gigabit-speedtest.net.
But it then turned out that the WiFi router - in the most used router/DHCP mode - does not bring the full speed of my gigabit fibre connection via the LAN ports (RJ-45). My PC is the only device in my network that is connected directly to the router's LAN port via a Cat6 cable and should therefore be able to use the full speed.
So far, the measured speeds with my cheaper but not so stylish WiFi routers (Fritz!box, D-Link, Netgear) have been around 940 Mbps (synchronous), whether in bridge or router mode.
Unfortunately, despite its stylish design, the Amplifi HD router only achieves this throughput in bridge mode, in which various functions that are important to me can no longer be used, as is usual in this operating mode. DHCP, port forwarding, fixed IP assignment - to name just a few - are functions that are only available in router mode. One can live with the 500 Mbps achieved, but not if I pay my ISP the subscription fees for a gigabit connection and the AmpliFi boasts 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports. This specification is simply wrong, as this designation is not normally assigned to a specific mode.
However, the worst thing that made me return the device after more than 1 month of torment is the unqualified, ignorant AmpliFi support, which I really don't wish on anyone. If you understand English and would like to read the odyssey, please click here: https://redd.it/6aeufqPerfect

In love with this display!
Very easy to set up and yet all the important settings are there. Exciting expansion possibilities with other Ubiquiti mesh products. The display shows a lot of important information, e.g. when an update is available - press once on the display and the update starts. Simply ingenious!

For simple people who do not want to go through a wild router menu. Configuration and management is done exclusively via smartphone. It is simple and clearly structured. WLAN range is very good and can be extended with optional meshpoints.
