- Very bright display with sharp resolution
- Fast charging
- Somewhat short battery life
- Weaknesses of the selfie camera
The flagship of the last generation still shines with its camera and contemporary look.
- Good camera with dual telephoto
- good battery life
- S Pen
- IP68
- Average charging speed
- High shutter lag
The S22 Ultra was the first S model with an S Pen in the casing. Externally, it is hardly distinguishable from its successor, the S23 Ultra, with its four cameras (including two telephotos with triple and ten times optical magnification). But in the test it is not nearly as good: photos are a little weaker, processor speed and battery life even significantly worse.
The flagship from the market leader Samsung was already introduced at the beginning of 2022 and is therefore one of the older models in this comparison. However, Korea has done its homework when it comes to 5G, because the GalaxyS22 Ultra not only supports the low-band combination 700/800, but also achieves good to very good results in all networks...

- Chic design
- S-Pen included
- Large display
- Night mode for photos in the dark
- Dual SIM
- Unhandy
- With pin
- Double tele
- five years of updates
- full of bloatware
There is no such thing as the perfect smartphone in 2022, but depending on the requirements, some devices come very close. The longest update support, great camera(s) and extensive features combine the Apple iPhone 14 Pro (Max), Google Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung S22 Ultra. Compared to the S22, the Pixel scores with clean Android, which is also particularly receptive to custom ROMs...
- Large
- Bright OLED
- 108 MP camera
- Dual-Tele
- Charging somewhat sluggish (even with 45 watts)
The S22 Ultra opens a new era for the S-Class: it combines technical improvements of the S22 series with exclusive design and a large display (1 to 120 hertz) and comes with the S-Pen. The 108 MP camera delivers all-round good to very good performance. The super zoom is particularly impressive thanks to the tenfold telephoto.
