The Samsung AU8079 looks more expensive than it is when switched off: less than three centimetres thick and very narrowly framed. After switching it on, the amazement continues: great colours, good contrast and crisp sharpness. In addition, more streaming apps are on board than with other brands, and operation is quickly learned...
When it comes to sound, all three manufacturers have made noticeable savings, as the TVs in the test only did what they were supposed to do. The super-slim Air Slim design looks good and is unique in this price range. However, Samsung is stingy with connections and sound quality. The picture quality definitely doesn't suffer; with good contrast and great colours, it's among the best in this price range. The many apps don't take up any space anyway, so the slim Samsung offers a really thick package.
