Product details
The Super 55 Deluxe vocal microphone combines classic design with modern technology. Known as the "Elvis microphone," it features new sound and a super cardioid characteristic for maximum protection against feedback.
What differs the Super 55 from the classic 55SH? The only similarity between the modern Super 55 and the classic 55SH is the exterior design with the chrome-plated cast housing. The Super 55 utilizes modern microphone technology, resulting in a contemporary sound, maximum feedback protection, and reduced handling noise. Unlike the classic model, the Super 55 does not have an on/off switch, and the pop filter is sapphire blue instead of anthracite.
How does the Super 55 sound? The Super 55's high-quality dynamic capsule delivers a sound that matches the top level of the Beta 58A, providing powerful and present audio. Even without EQ settings on the mixing console, it is an excellent choice for band mixing. The neodymium magnet and high sensitivity ensure high output levels and clear, brilliant highs.
Safe against feedback and equipped for daily stage use, the consistent supercardioid characteristic offers maximum protection against feedback. Like all Shure products, the Super 55 is built to withstand the rigors of on-stage use.
Is the classic 55SH still available? Yes, the Super 55 does not replace the classic "Elvis microphone" but serves as a modern-sounding alternative.
