The Alpha 1 is still a true all-rounder - for both photography and video production. Although there are cameras with higher resolution, faster frame rates and comparable 8K functionality, they hardly offer all the features at the same time. What it lacks a few years after its market launch is the AI coprocessor of the newer models, which enables improved scene recognition, among other things...
Sony has shaken up the professional segment of the system camera market with the Alpha 9 III. The model is the first full-frame system camera to feature a global shutter sensor. This means that with this model, the image sensor is read out completely in one step instead of the pixels being read out line by line one after the other...
With the SL3, Leica has created a very good full-frame camera that impresses above all with its high resolution. The closest thing to the Alpha 1 would be Canon's EOS R5 and Nikon's Z 9 - or the Alpha 9 Il for pure in-house sports photography...
