The popular ZEIss Vario-Sonnar T 24-70 mm F2.8 zoom has been optimized for even higher performance. The lens processing has also been revised for faster acquisition, and it is dust and moisture resistant.
Resolution and contrast of a fixed focal length lens are achieved thanks to two aspherical elements and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements in a ZEIss precision optical design. A constant maximum F2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range means consistent exposure settings at any focal length, as well as optimized low-light performance. The ssM (Super Sonic Wave Motor) drive system, combined with an integrated focusing mechanism, achieves smooth, quiet autofocus operation and fast autofocus response. A focus adjustment switch and focus hold button on the cylinder provide more versatile focusing and control options.
