The pedal is a hybrid solution and combines a bass preamp and overdrive pedal in one device. The SansAmp can be used as an effects unit in front of an amplifier, sent directly to a mixing console or output the signal to the mixing console and amplifier simultaneously. The drive control can be used to adjust the distortion level as required and the blend control can be used to mix the effect sound with the clean sound. The Character knob can be used to adjust the frequency curve according to the desired sound, while the Level knob controls the volume. The signal can be mixed to the clean bass signal as desired using the blend control. The integrated equaliser with bass, mid and treble control can be used to shape the sound even further. With the BITE button, the VT Bass offers an additional boost in the treble for more bite and a tighter sound. The XLR signal can also be attenuated by -20 dB, the jack output can be boosted by 10 dB and phantom power can be activated or deactivated via the XLR socket. The 6.35 mm jack input and a parallel 6.35 mm jack output are located on the right-hand side. The left-hand side has a 9 volt power connection for an optional power supply unit (not included). The pedal can be sent directly to a PA, a mixer or an audio interface via the 3-pin XLR output. If you switch on the Phantom & Ground Connect XLR button, the pedal can be supplied with power via the phantom power of a mixing console. The VT Bass can be switched on and off using the robust and smooth-running footswitch.
