Die Western Digital Red mit 6 TByte Speicher ist zwar keine Leistungsgranate, aber eine ideale und zugleich bezahlbare Grundlage für einen riesigen Netzwerkspeicher. Gerade die niedrige Lautstärke, der angemessene Stromverbrauch und die noch guten Transferraten machen sie zu einem empfehlenswerten Backup- und Medienspeicher.

Mit ihrem sehr günstigen Preis sowie der soliden Leistung kann die WD sicherlich punkten. Zwar erreicht sie dabei keine top Datenraten aber gemessen am Preis geht das Gesamtpaket sicherlich in Ordnung. Zudem ist sie sehr leise im Betrieb.

    Abgesehen von Seagates Enterprise-Modell mit 6 TB sind bislang keine weiteren Samples selbiger Kapazitätklasse verfügbar, sodass ein wertende Beurteilung von Western Digitals WD60EFRX angesichts der unterschiedlichen Einsatzgebiete beider 6-TB-Boliden eher unpassend erscheint. Daher versuchen wir die Ergebnisse eher im Kontext der Vorgänger-Generation zu beurteilen...
