The optional modules for all switch models with MiniGBIC slots enable a wide range of network configurations. Single/multi-mode fiber modules for distances of 10 km and 550 m. MiniGBIC stands for Mini-Gigabit-Interface-Converter. The name Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) is also used. Both names refer to gigabit performance in a compact form, which connects a wide range of switches to fiber optics.
