A charging station is shown in the product pictures... but this is not included in the product description and a charging station is shown as a preferred accessory. Is the charging station included or not?

Yes, it comes with a USB cable for connecting to a power supply or computer. The headphones can be charged by placing them on the charging station or directly through the cable, which can be plugged into the headset. Both work without any problems for me.
