Are the Corsair QL120s better than the Corsair LL120s (performance, noise etc)?
According to the manufacturer, this is the newest version of their rgb fans. Therefore, they indicate that this model is supposed to be the best in their range.
I would add that I have tested the QLs on several HydroX builds with 1x360mm or 2x360mm heatsink(s) on Intel 9900k and Amd ryzen threadripper and have had no trouble "cooling" (liquid temp 30-35°) if they are not ideal they also make much less noise, the input-output orientation and placement of the heatsink matters much more.
QL = less good static pressure (radiators) on the other hand quieter and noisier than LL even at 100-200rpm more which compensates a little, they also allow to be sure to put them in any direction, very often LL will block you in your choices of orientation for example fans at the bottom of the case, the RGB of LL on the right side is on the other hand nicer because the colors are better diluted we see less of them. They also allow you to be sure to put them in any direction, very often LL will block you in your choices of orientation for example fans at the bottom of the case, the RGB of LL on the right side is on the other hand more attractive because the colours are better diluted we see less the leds in the plastic, LL also light very strong...too bright without tinted glass honestly i have 1 set of each i always ended up with the QLs so i could turn the fans as i wanted and especially the smoother noise it's worth losing 1-2 degrees of temperature, even 10x QL120mm at 100% speed it's acceptable or even quieter than many gaming PCs
