Are there any disadvantages with the USB power supply in terms of speed? Or are there any restrictions on use? - What happens if there are films on the disk that you want to watch on the TV from the disk? - Thank you very much for your answer.

The speed depends on the USB version. With USB2 it is much slower than with USB3. In any case, it is sufficient to watch films in HD (about 1280x720 pixels) without any problems, even on my old HP ProBook with USB2.

You can only power the HD via USB, so I can't say what it would be like if there was an external power supply.
So far I have never had the feeling that the disk is working slowly.
