At the moment I use a UPC Connect Box at home. The house where we live has 3 floors, and unfortunately already on the second floor the wifi signal is weak and I can use the internet very limited. There is one room where you can't really do anything. On the third floor I have no signal at all. So my question would be:
1. does this router have enough range so that I could cover the third floor as well? If not in addition with the Netgear mesh would be enough?
2. does it work with UPC Connect Box?

Regarding your questions:

1. I don't think the router alone reaches up to the third floor. If you are using the 5Ghz Wi-Fi, even less so. A mesh system would definitely be the better way with one hotspot each for the second and third floor. 

I live in a rented flat and the 5Ghz Wi-Fi already has trouble getting from my study to the bedroom. It has to go through three walls. 

2. the router is compatible with the Connect Box without any problems. That's what I had in use. But don't forget to switch the Connect Box to bridge mode.
