I don't own a Sonos 5 myself
Sonos 5 is in a class of its own in terms of sound. Since Bluetooth has an impact on the sound experience, WiFi was chosen.
But whether Bluetooth or WiFi is not the question.
Sonos has a 3.5 mm stereo audio input, the Logidec Bluetooth audio adapter has a 3.5 mm stereo audio output.
Since the Logidec Bluetooth Audioadabter is only an interface that passes the signal on to a cinch connection, there are no connection problems.
I have been using the Logidec Bluetooth Audio Adapter reliably for years.
If you haven't bought the Sonos 5 yet, here's a tip: the Sonos One and Muse are Bluetooth compatible.

I'm sorry that the connection is not working.
May I ask which operating system you are using and with which smartphone the connection should be established?
There is known to be some trouble with the support of updates, from Sonos.
Maybe that's where the problem lies.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have had the Play:5 for a few years now and really appreciate its good sound quality ;) I am of course aware of the loss of quality with BT and that this is not really the purpose of this product, but I don't see any other option at the moment if I want to play something from YouTube on it, unless I have missed something. :)

I also own the Move, but if I already have a 5, I don't always want to use the Move (definitely out of laziness).
The reason I asked the question is that I had already ordered a baseus BT adapter and it doesn't work, i.e. my Hsndy connects to it. but no music is played on the Play:5....
