Yes, the pedals also function as brakes.
That is, they are steered by pushing them forwards/backwards and braked by "stepping" on the pedals.
I only have experience with X-Plane and there the pedals are automatically recognised and the function is assigned accordingly.
It has a switch where you can choose between Autosim and Flightsim, and both pedals work separately as brakes in MSFS and X Plane.
