Does the docking station work with the Huawei Matebook X Pro?
Good evening
The answer is: so half.
I have both together in operation, totally fine in everyday life. But some limitations come:
The Matebook pro X doesn't have a fullspeed Thunderbolt port see here:
https://www.eteknix.com/huawei-mat...
Therefore, a maximum of 2 screens can be connected to the dock and not 3 as mentioned. In addition, one screen must be operated with Display Port and the other with HDMI (not 2x Displayport).
The power button on the dock doesn't work for me either, but you want to log in using your fingerprint anyway.
Attention Data transfers (e.g. external SSD hard drive connected to the dock) will only work at half speed.
The notebook is charged with the 60W, just like with the supplied power adapter. No fast charging despite double power supply.
Here's how I got it working:
-Download Dell drivers (3 of them) and install them (no automatic detection on my end).
-Switch off Bios Thunderbolt security (can possibly be skipped if there are concerns).
-As I said, assign monitors to one Displayport and one HDMI (that's all I can do).
One last thing:
The Matebook only has one Thunderbolt port (the one further forward on the device) the other one is USB C. So the dock must always be plugged into the right port! Even if both ports look the same.
Product works perfectly for me. I can't answer the question because I don't work with Huawei Matebook X Pro.
