Has anyone used this hard drive in a QNAP TS-251+? According to the QNAP compatibility list, only Toshiba 18TB HDDs are approved. What about the volume and power consumption? According to my comparison here at Digitec, the power consumption of the Segate drive in operation is more than 50% higher than a WD Red Pro 18TB and the standby is 13 times higher than the WD. Since I still have two 8TB WD drives installed at the moment, which are even more economical, I am curious to hear about their experiences.

Volume is ok. I had a WD something enterprise (i.e. not a red), which I exchanged for the Seagate, because the WD clicked so loudly every few seconds (even without access) that you could even feel the click with your finger on the icybox 4 port usb housing. Before that, I tried replacing the wd, but it was also so loud, and finally I took the Seagate and am satisfied with the volume.

That shouldn't be a problem, an 18tb disc is still an 18tb disc.

I would look at the idle power consumption. The Seagate consumes about 2w more. But with the big difference in price, this is unfortunately not a decisive "factor".
