Question about Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Gen.
Hello everyone! My Logitech G35 is giving up the ghost (or rather the bracket). Now I am looking for a new power amplifier for gaming. So far, the MMX 300.2 has practically eliminated all doubts (I'm really very Logitech-believing and biased :P). The last point that still leaves me in some doubt is the localisation of the sounds. I am used to a virtual 7.1 that allows me to locate the origin of a sound very precisely (practically blind). Question: How well can the MMX 300.2 locate the sounds spatially?

I switched from an Astro A40 to the Beyerdynamic MMX 300.2 and was thrilled. Tracking was no problem across the spectrum. I use the sound card installed on my ASUS MoBo, SonicSuite 3 software from ASUS and activated Dolby Atmos in Windows 10. I also created a preset myself in the SonicSuite 3 equaliser. The sound quality is 1A, and as I said, localisation is no problem.
The microphone is also flawless in terms of voice quality.
I can only recommend the headset. If on-board sound is used, you can get even more out of it with additional software.
Tip (Chargeable, but free for a few days for testing:
- Beyerdynamic's own software, where you send in a photo of your ear and an audio profile is created based on it, which individually increases sound quality and spatial awareness (I tried it myself and it worked).
- Bongiovi DPS
Big plus: ear pads and headband can always be reordered and replaced (especially practical for me as a wearer of a "flesh cap" :-) ).
From the G933 via Audio Technica, I finally ended up with the Beyerdynamic MMX300 Gen2 and wouldn't want to do without it. In games like Call of Duty, Escape from Tarkov or BF, it's no problem for me to locate opponents.
It's not like you just hear sounds left and right now. You will still be able to tell exactly whether someone is in front of you, next to you or behind you.
For me, it took maybe 2 evenings to get used to it, and then it was done. In general, you will enjoy excellent sound and high wearing comfort with good attenuation of external noise.
I don't use the microphone because I have a table microphone, so I can't say anything about it. But there are demos on Youtube.
