Hello everyone I had a question about the lens. Is this compatible with my Nikon D90? Or would you recommend a different lens? I am also a little torn as to whether my camera is still up to date. Of course I only really need my camera for holiday photos (landscape and animals)

Good day
You can say "semi-compatible": It should all work on the D90, but you can only shoot with open aperture, which is quite annoying. This is because the 200-500mm is an E-type lens. This means that the aperture is controlled purely electronically, without mechanical transmission. The D90 cannot do this. See compatibility list at https://www.nikonimgsupport.com/eu....
Otherwise, the D90 is certainly still a usable camera. There are enough alternative telephoto zooms from Nikon or third-party manufacturers without electronic aperture transmission (AF, AF-D or G types) that are fully compatible with the D90.

Hello,
Yes, the lens is compatible with the D90 but, personally, I would hesitate to buy such a lens because the D90 is a more manufactured camera. If you can, opt for a hybrid camera because the image quality is much better.
If you really want to stick with the D90, as a lens I recommend the: Nikon AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor 70-200mm f/4G ED or Nikon AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR. the latter, a little more expensive but much better.
