Hello, Can I smear this liquid metal under the heatspreader and between the water cooling (Corsair H115i Pro Rgb) and the CPU? Since I think liquid metal is conductive, I was wondering. Does anyone know if the cooling conducts and if this is possible? Thanks for your help in advance :)
Yes, as long as the contact surface of the cooler to the CPU is not made of aluminium. Since liquid metal is conductive, it is a little trickier to apply, but in my personal opinion it is not more difficult. It is best to cover everything around the CPU during application in case something should go wrong. According to various sources, liquid metal slightly corrodes the surface of the CPU's headspreaders, but this is only an optical problem.
but this should only be visually disturbing.
