I use it daily via the Xiaomi Smart Speaker, but it only understands me 6/10 times. I have also tried different locations. The Google Nest is supposed to have a better microphone with far-field.

Actually, the Google Nest Mini understands pretty well. If it doesn't understand you, try phrasing the questions differently. This has worked well for me.

It practically never happens that the Google Nest doesn't understand me.
I can call out to it from the next room to adjust the heating or mumble a question about the weather to it very sleepily in the morning. It understands...
