I have a Surface Book and would like to connect this to my HP G2 docking station to be able to use my desktop setup (screens, keyboard status, mouse, WebCam).

As the SurfaceBook doesn't have a USB-C I would need to hook an adapter in between. is this possible with this Microsoft Surface Dock 2 ?

All my peripherals are connected to the HP G2, which has a USB-C port that I would like to connect to my Surface Book.

Important: the resolution of the screens. There are different limits for Surface Dock 1 / Dock 2. This page provides information:

Answer

HP G2 with Surface Book 2 is not a good solution. With Surface Book 2 you are better off travelling with a Surface Dock, version 1 should be sufficient.
