Question about ASUS SDRW-08D2S-U Lite

I have now ordered the drive and when I wanted to watch a film, it did not work. How do I proceed or what do I have to install to be able to watch a DVD via this drive? Unfortunately, I'm not an IT genius.

Install video software, e.g. free VLC viewer, which can play almost everything https://www.videolan.org/vlc

Actually, it should work on a PC, you don't need to install anything. The drive is plug and play, connect both USB plugs and Windows recognises the drive. In Windows 10, go to Settings-> Devices -> on the left-hand side, select AutoPlay and under Removable media, select "Open folder to display files (Explorer)".
Now, after inserting a DVD, Explorer should open and the contents of the DVD should be displayed.
