Ideally, if you have display port output on your PC/Laptop, you'd use that before trying HDMI (that cable *should* be included). It's not unusual for cheaper displays to omit the HDMI cable (on the product page, scope of delivery section states what's included: Power cable, DisplayPort cable, USB 3.0 upstream cable)
