Question about Klipsch R-51PM

Is it normal that these speakers are consistently noisy? I have tried it in four different rooms, put the two speakers together and apart and the result does not change. The noise is there as soon as the speakers are switched on and does not disappear when you play something (noise is drowned out and not replaced by the music). I also have the feeling that the speakers generally don't have a particularly good sound quality (my father's ancient passive speaker system definitely sounds better) and based on the reviews here, I actually expected to be able to expect top quality. Either I've really got a model that's been through the wringer (I bought the speakers as "as new and tested", but theoretically this means that the previous owner didn't even unpack them) or these speakers really aren't the best in the world. Many thanks for your help!

Same here! No matter where and how I operate the speakers, a background noise is always audible.
Even if I only connect the right speaker to the power supply, the noise is audible.
The speakers are therefore going back.

"The latter is the case - they ARE "not the best of the best"! Or rather - I have the impression that the expectations of the LS were higher than the price segment would allow! ;)
The product picture shows the connecting cable for the two LS - bell wire! That says more than all the internet reviews put together."

I connected them to a high quality class A/B amplifier (Luxman L-505uXII) (analogue, at the pre-amp output) and I have to say that I am thrilled so far. No noise, nothing at all. Sound quality is also good in my opinion.

No comparison with the previous "Hercules XPS 2.0 80 DJ Monitor Speakers" - with those, the frequency ranges drift extremely apart when you increase the volume - they really start to boom...

(And of course, with an amplifier like this, you could get more out of it with higher-quality (passive) speakers - no question).

Yes, I think you've got yourself a "Monday model". So:

Ask for an exchange; and if it still doesn't work: ask for a credit note!

-> However, I also have to ask myself: Could it be that there is a problem with the earthing? That also often causes a humming noise...
