Ist das WD My Cloud Home (1 x 6 TB, WD Red WDBVXC0060HWT-EESN) in Kürze nicht mehr als NAS zu brauchen ist? Ich habe es gestern von euch bekommen und beim Einrichten gesehen das auf der WD Website steht : On April 15, 2022, support for prior generations of My Cloud OS, including My Cloud OS 3, will end. There are critical security updates that are only available for My Cloud OS 5-compatible devices. If your device isn't compatible with My Cloud OS 5, you'll only be able to access it locally. After April 15, 2022, your device will no longer receive remote access, security updates, or technical support. To help protect your content, we recommend that you immediately back up your device, disable remote access, disconnect it from the internet, and then protect it with a strong, unique password. Update auf version 3 scheint nicht angeboten zu werden.. was jetzt?

Addendum: LG has actually done it and now you have to control the device either locally or via a browser and a (Chinese) user account at LG. This is not only problematic in terms of data security and privacy, but also no longer reasonable to use. There are certainly better alternatives and I will avoid LG in the future after the experience, which in my opinion is quite a customer screw-up.

The procedure is stated by the manufacturer, namely to disconnect the NAS from the network and use it only locally. We regret this. If you do not like this procedure, we invite you to write to us by e-mail on this subject :)
