Question about Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal

On Youtube, someone posted a very nasty video who treated his laptop cooler (copper) with liquid metal, and where the whole thing eventually became insulating instead of conductive over time. Someone explained it chemically (don't know if it's true). In any case, he said something like that the liquid metal combines/penetrates with the copper because of the particle charge, more and more over time, and thus actually irreversibly damages the heat sink. Now my previous cooler was nickel-plated, but the Corsair AiO is pure copper. Now my question: What kind of weather is it in Shanghai right now? No nonsense, of course I'm worried about it now and since I just had to send it back under DoA warranty anyway, I'm now wondering whether I should leave it alone with a new cooler made of pure copper? Thx

Hi Felix

Without seeing the video, of course I can't say anything about the video and I'm not a chemist either.
With that said, I can say that I have had either die and copper CPU coolers on for over 12 months in various PC's and notebooks and they still look good and the temperatures are still the same as the first day.
As far as I could find out from the manufacturers of liquid metal, the problem is with aluminium and not with copper. But aluminium is usually only found in very cheap coolers and is never used as a CPU heatspreader, so it shouldn't be a problem.
The fact that the copper has a slight discolouration can also happen with certain normal WMP, but has no influence on the performance or longevity, as far as I have been able to observe so far.

Aluminium is clear, but I still put a cheap Intel stock cooler on top of it in a makeshift way, so that at least something is on it, which got nice black spots within a very short time.

Let's see if I can still find the article/the YT vid. Somehow it's about pure copper with LM on silicon die and air. Whereas in my case, pure copper of the WaKü (copper-coloured) would go on nickel-plated copper (silver heatspreader). The statement was also that in the PC the whole thing with the heatspreader comes less into contact with air but that the LM basically reacts chemically with copper, therefore irreversibly. Until now, my cooler was nickel-plated copper at the bottom and the WaKü seems to be pure copper. I don't know why and what the advantages/disadvantages are.
