Question about SumUp Solo

Question 1: is the data volume only in Switzerland? I am close to the border and it often changes to the German network, it is no use to me if the SIM card only works in Switzerland and the foreign network does not, then I would rather buy the cheaper one for 40 and do it with my mobile or can I switch off the SIM with this one and go with WIFI and connect in the local hotel or then via my mobile? Question 2: I keep reading that if the device is not constantly charged, it stops working, doesn't respond etc. etc. Can you tell me anything about this? Can you tell me something about this? Question 3: do I also have the APP with this one and do I have to use it or can I check who has paid for what? I'm not sure, I'm an SME and need it mainly for small trade fairs, at stands and in hotels where my goods are bought directly. Thanks and regards R.

Helpful answer

The connection can only be made via wi-fi (we never used the SIM), so it doesn't go on the network or roaming. Charging doesn't take long (a couple of hours I'd say) and it's better to keep it plugged in, but it doesn't freeze and hasn't given me any problems whatsoever.
At first you have to do several (compulsory) updates but once you do the last one then it works fine.
You can enter a description of why the collection was made and every day an email is sent from their system with a .pdf with the summary of the collections + description, I don't know the app and we don't use it. Eventually with the online account (to be created on their site, obligatory) you can see the details of the payments and you can set different preferences.
The device is fast and works well with good wi-fi, for small transactions I recommend it.

Re 1: Yes, the built-in SIM should work in Switzerland and the EU as a whole.
2. it needs energy, but it's not that wild, you can get by with one charge for up to a whole day.
3. the app is not a must, but of course you can use it to see everything that happens, so monitoring is possible, as with all other devices.
And now be careful, never drop the device, like all SumUp devices, the Solo is extremely sensitive to shocks and deactivates forever if it receives a strong shock. You must therefore always transport it well packaged and never transport the device individually.
