What exactly is the difference between this device (manufacturer no. 43888) and https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/verbatim-slimline-blu-ray-externes-optisches-laufwerk-10856548 (manufacturer no. 43889)? The comparison on Digitec has produced nothing so far.

According to the detailed answer on amazon: :'Model 43890 has a USB3.0 port and also a power supply.
The model 43889 and 43888 have a USB 3.1 GEN1 USB-C connection.
Both models 43889 and 43888 do not require a power supply unit, nor do they have a connector for one.
The 43890 and 43889 have the Pioneer BDR-UD03 drive installed and the 43888 has the Pioneer BDR-UD04 drive.
BDR-UD04, which also supports 4K playback with the appropriate software and hardware.
The 43890 and 43888 differ only in terms of the connection and the 43888 in terms of the drive.
The software is identical for all of them. Nero BurningRom Essentials 2016 is included'.

According to Toppreise, the 43890 with the separate power seems to be much older.
