In my case, the distance from the mainboard to the cooler is just 28 mm, so that there is no room at all for RAM in one of the 4 RAM slots (even slimmer RAMs without coolers do not fit there). Depending on the design of the mainboard, the fan can also be mounted on the other side of the cooler (if there are no tall components on the mainboard blocking the space).

Apart from that, I can highly recommend the cooler. It has good cooling performance and is very quiet.
