Mainly, it was men who made the first seventy years of Luisa's life difficult: her husband Alfred, an "artist" (which really just means he isn't even good at making money), Roman, her son-in-law with the "passionate nature" (one can imagine what that means in relation to other women), and Dr. Hausammann, who botched her daughter's surgery at the time. While helping her neighbor pack boxes for the move to a retirement home, Luisa comes to the conclusion that it's time to finally clean up and get rid of the baggage in her own life.
