Heike Herrgen, born in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, is a pharmacist and mother of three children. After working for pharmaceutical companies in Frankfurt and Heidelberg, she now writes for children and young people. Her young adult book manuscript "Emilys Sommer" made it onto the longlist of the Carlsen Impress writing competition in 2016, while "Aurelias zauberblaues Geheimnis" is her debut novel. She lives near Heidelberg with her husband and youngest daughter. Claudia Gabriele Meinicke, born in Mecklenburg in 1967, has a doctorate in natural sciences. She began working with oil and watercolour painting in 2007. She attended numerous courses with renowned artists, including at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig.
