Using exemplary case studies, the challenges that ecological-artistic researchers are wrestling with as the "anthropological machine of humanism" heads towards a planetary state of emergency will be discussed - a search for research modalities in art that reflect new conditions of knowledge formation under the sign of the ecological imperative.
