Gustje is doing well in the cellar. Only little Peter has a completely different opinion. He stubbornly insists that Gustje should be allowed to sleep in the children's room and later secretly takes her to bed with him. The child and the goose are already inseparable when the father, against all compassionate objections from his wife, wants to send Gustje to goose heaven just before Christmas. Gustje screams in protest, the mother cries, and the father devises a wicked plan. And who triumphs? Of course, the goose - otherwise, this wouldn't be an enjoyable Christmas story.
