This work was undertaken with the aim of documenting the influence of the dust removal process on the specific electrical energy consumption of the electric arc furnace and examining possible measures to reduce electrical energy consumption through optimal dust removal settings. The combination of simulations and measurement results provided detailed insights into the impact of dust removal on the energy and mass flows of the electric arc furnace. Optimizing the flue gas dust removal allows for the minimization of the energy released in the electric arc furnace and reduces the specific electrical consumption in the electric arc furnace process.
