"Ethiopia's Commitment to the TRIPS Agreement" is a comprehensive dissertation that examines the impact of the implementation of the TRIPS Agreement on science and technology policy in Ethiopia. In the current debate about the role of intellectual property in developing countries, particularly in the least developed countries (LDCs), the question arises whether strong protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) actually promotes foreign direct investment and technology transfer or whether it hinders national technological capability.
