Product details

"GIS and Participatory Planning Processes" is a specialized book that addresses the increasing complexity in planning processes since the mid-20th century. It highlights the necessity of involving various individual and collective actors, as well as multiple spatial and temporal dimensions in planning. The challenges arising from this complexity require planners to employ innovative tools to effectively manage, analyze, and resolve problems and conflicts. This work, developed as part of a Master's program in Urban Development at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, proposes a methodology that supports participatory planning through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This methodology promotes structured documentation of the planning process and enables continuous interaction among stakeholders to generate intelligent data for pattern analysis and timely conflict resolution.
