The book "Renegotiation Of Gender Identities In Transnational Spaces" offers a critical analysis of the reconfiguration of gender identities in transnational contexts, with a particular focus on foreign students of African descent at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. It sheds light on the often-overlooked issue of gender dynamics within the context of transnational migration, which is frequently neglected in research. While the migration of students represents a significant yet under-researched field, this work examines how gender relations influence the movements of both men and women and structure the entire migration process. The transnational experience of studying abroad and the ongoing negotiations of new social and cultural environments provide students with the opportunity to challenge or reinforce their perspectives on gender. By analyzing the complexity of negotiations in transnational spaces, it demonstrates how gender shapes migration flows and, conversely, how migration influences gender relations.
