"Robot Cooperation in Space" is a specialized book that focuses on the collaboration of multiple spacecraft and robotic systems. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature in the field of multi-robot research, particularly regarding applications in space. The book defines key terms in the area of multi-robot systems and offers an overview of various space applications where multiple robots cooperate. Additionally, two algorithmic implementations are presented: a simple vector-based method and an AI-supported approach for controlling multi-robot formations aimed at the problem of area coverage. The scenario of space exploration is illustrated through a marsupial robotic society that undertakes tasks such as mapping and habitat construction. However, the solutions presented are also transferable to a broader range of applications, as area coverage is considered one of the fundamental problems in multi-robot applications.
