The book "Social Advertising and Government Demographic Policies in Ukraine" by Olexandra Dubovyk offers a comprehensive analysis of the role of social advertising in the implementation and promotion of state demographic policies in Ukraine. It presents a case study that addresses the implementation of social advertising as a means to introduce and support these policies. The research is embedded in the existing discourse on state, ideology, and the construction of social issues, aiming to fill a gap in the research on social advertising in post-Soviet countries. The findings show that the Ukrainian government's promoted notion of a traditional nuclear family is not represented in the social advertisements. Instead, the ads often focus on the relationship between mother and child, addressing conflicts that arise from these relationships. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the government morally encourages women to have children regardless of their marital status, which stimulates the discussion about single mothers.
