Sarah Teufel lives with her American ex-husband James between the vast countryside and the Wadden Sea in East Frisia. Together they run a taxi company - with an original New York Yellow Cab! Sarah notices quite a few things on her journeys. And as the nearest police station is a long way away, she sometimes investigates on her own when something isn't quite right.

Sarah is there and is thrilled by the elaborate performance of the play "Seagulls Murder at Noon" - especially by the performance of the famous actress Agnes Sakowski. In one scene, she is even supposed to be "shot" with a pistol and blanks. But when the shot is fired, Agnes actually dies! Someone has replaced the blanks with real ones. Sarah plunges into the investigation and discovers that the dead actress has recently become more and more of a tyrannical diva. And quite a few people have a motive for the murder ...
