"Understanding Malay Academic Underachievement in Singapore" is a thorough investigation that addresses the causes of academic underachievement among Malay students in Singapore. The book employs a deconstructivist approach to analyze the underlying operations of the racist stereotypes often associated with academic performance. It examines the extent to which ethnicity and mother tongue (Malay) influence the educational outcomes of the Malay community.
