A red charge indicator is visible through the round belly. The energy-saving light source of only 3 watts is switched on automatically as soon as the lamp is lifted from the base. This intuitive mobile night light turns on as soon as it is removed from the charging station and is charged when it is put back on its base.Barbapapapa also has a timer, which is switched on at the factory. When the timer is on, this is indicated by a small blue LED. The lamp lights up with timer for one hour and then switches off automatically. The timer can be deactivated or reactivated by pressing and holding down the on/off switch at the bottom of the lamp.
