For a PC there is no need for this box, what you are looking for is probably the Hue Sync Desktop App for Windows or MacOS: https://www.philips-hue.com/fr-ch/explore-hue/propositions/entertainment/sync-with-pc This software works via the Hue Bridge to synchronise with Hue Color, Play and Gradient devices. The box you are asking about is intended to be inserted between the HDMI output of a game console (Xbox, Playstation), a multimedia player (nVidia Shield, Apple TV, ...) or a DVD / Bluray player and the HDMI input of the TV. On a PC, especially for games, you should preferably use the Displayport output, which offers better bandwidth, rather than the HDMI output of the graphics card. It is indeed technically possible to put this box between the HDMI output of a video card for example of a media PC and a TV, but the interest remains limited.

Hi, You have 2 ways to drive Philips Hue immersive lighting: OPTION-1. you rely on the Philips Hue box OPTION-2. you rely on the Philips Hue SW OPTION-1 benefits: - can be used without SW (e.g. on a TV set) - not intrusive (does not "overload" your PC.. even if the SW is really light) => I use it on my TV set OPTION-2 benefits: - cheaper - does not require a configuration SW on the phone => I use it for gaming on my PC Out of scope, but I cannot resist: Razer devices? Really?

I had read in a Digitec blog article that they are expected to be included in the shop from 12 September. Hopefully not for the overpriced price that Philips Switzerland is charging.

No need, the sync box only works in HDMI. But there's free software from Philipps Hue to synchronise the PC. https://www.philips-hue.com/fr-ch/explore-hue/propositions/entertainment/sync-with-pc

Yes, you can use any Philips Hue light with the Sync Box to watch movies or similar. Please remember that the Sync Box works with HDMI signals and there has to be something like Apple TV, Playstation or Android TV in addition for this to work.

The Hue Bridge is essential. Also note that the box can only animate lights using the signal that passes through it (games console, Blu-ray player, Apple TV, NVIDIA Shield, etc.). Anything connected directly to the TV (aerial cable, TV applications, etc.) will not animate your lights, as no signal passes through the Hue Play.

I also have a Denon receiver. I have connected all devices (Apple TV, PS5, 4K player, Nintendo Switch) to the receiver in the respective inputs. Then the receiver output to the Sync Box input 1 and then the output to the TV in HDMI 2 with ARC. This works for me.
