Download the free app to your smartphone or mobile device, connect the feeder to your Wi-Fi, and enjoy the convenience of being able to control the feeding schedule from anywhere. The feeder holds 24 cups (5,678 ml) of dry or semi-moist food. Because of its unique design, the Smart Feed feeder is suitable for most dry and semi-moist foods without food jams. You can set up to 12 meals per day in portion sizes ranging from 1/8 cup (29 ml) to 4 cups (946 ml). The optional slow feed option dispenses meals in small portions over 15 minutes. This option is suitable for pets that are prone to gulping. The Feed Now option allows you to dispense a meal on demand at any time via the app or by pressing the pet-safe button on the feeder. The feeder's mounting bracket ensures that the included stainless steel bowl cannot be tipped over or pushed around by your pet. These components and the upper compartment, which is filled with food, are dishwasher safe (clean only the upper basket). The feeder has a power plug and can go into backup mode in the event of a power outage if you load the designated compartment with 4 D batteries (not included). To connect the PetSafe Smart Feed feeder to your smartphone app, a 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n) wireless router is required. The mobile app works with iPhones and iPods running iOS 9.0 or later, and most Android smartphones running version 6.0 or later. One feeder can be controlled from multiple family members' smartphones.
